Alev Alatl\u0131, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce hayat\u0131n\u0131n son yar\u0131m y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131na damga vurmu\u015f, roman\u0131 bir fikir alan\u0131 olarak kuran nadir yazarlardan biridir. Edebiyat\u0131 yaln\u0131zca estetik bir u\u011fra\u015f de\u011fil, medeniyet, kimlik, modernle\u015fme ve zihniyet meselelerinin tart\u0131\u015f\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 bir zemin olarak g\u00f6rm\u00fc\u015f; eserleriyle T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin Bat\u0131\u2019yla ili\u015fkisini, ayd\u0131n tipini ve k\u00fclt\u00fcrel k\u0131r\u0131lmalar\u0131n\u0131 sorgulam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu y\u00f6n\u00fcyle Alatl\u0131, hem romanc\u0131 hem d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcr kimli\u011fiyle \u00e7a\u011fda\u015f T\u00fcrk edebiyat\u0131nda \u00f6zg\u00fcn bir yerde durur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1944 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u0130zmir\u2019de do\u011fan Alev Alatl\u0131, lisans e\u011fitimini Orta Do\u011fu Teknik \u00dcniversitesi Ekonomi B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc\u2019nde tamamlad\u0131. Ard\u0131ndan ABD\u2019de Vanderbilt \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nde kalk\u0131nma ekonomisi, Dartmouth College\u2019da ilahiyat ve felsefe alanlar\u0131nda \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar yapt\u0131. Akademik formasyonunun geni\u015fli\u011fi, eserlerine disiplinleraras\u0131 bir derinlik kazand\u0131rd\u0131. Bir s\u00fcre akademisyenlik ve k\u00f6\u015fe yazarl\u0131\u011f\u0131 yapt\u0131; televizyon programlar\u0131 ve konferanslarla da d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerini kamuoyuyla payla\u015ft\u0131.

Edebiyata 1980\u2019li y\u0131llarda y\u00f6nelen Alatl\u0131, \u00f6zellikle \u201cYaseminler T\u00fcter mi H\u00e2l\u00e2?\u201d ve onu izleyen romanlar\u0131yla dikkat \u00e7ekti. \u201cOr\u2019da Kimse Var m\u0131?\u201d ba\u015fl\u0131kl\u0131 d\u00f6rtlemesi, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin 12 Eyl\u00fcl sonras\u0131 toplumsal ve zihinsel atmosferini ele al\u0131rken, ayd\u0131n ele\u015ftirisi ve k\u00fclt\u00fcrel yabanc\u0131la\u015fma temalar\u0131n\u0131 i\u015fledi. Daha sonraki eserlerinde k\u00fcreselle\u015fme, Amerikan etkisi, de\u011ferler krizi ve medeniyet tasavvuru gibi konular\u0131 roman kurgusu i\u00e7inde tart\u0131\u015ft\u0131.
